NJ Wedding Photography Tips by the Fox & the Hare Photographers

This week on our vendor highlight, we're featuring New Jersey photographers, The Fox & The Hare Photography. The Fox & The Hare is comprised of Steve, "the fox" and Jen, "the hare," who always work together as a team. With backgrounds in fine arts, this duo has been photographing weddings for 8 years with a focus on being there for their couples every step of the way.

The Fox & The Hare photographed a woodsy wedding at New Jersey wedding venue, Rock Island Lake Club this past July, and we knew instantly that we needed them to be a part of the Rock Island vendor team! Between their kindness and professionalism, and the beautiful work they produce, Jen + Steve create an experience for our couples that lasts a lifetime, which is exactly what we strive for at Rock Island.

The Fox & The Hare want to share their top tips with our couples to take advantage of at their weddings:

1. Give yourselves downtime.

Allow yourselves 30 minutes to an hour before your ceremony to relax (if you're doing a first look, of course). It may be the only time you have to take a deep breath before the craziness ensues!

2. Take some time after the ceremony.

The Fox & The Hare team likes to use this time to take some candids from afar or to take the couples out for sunset photos. These will be the very first photos of you as an officially married couple!

Following the ceremony, The Fox & The Hare team likes to give their newlyweds space by not giving too much instruction. They just want to document you two being together-- away from everyone else just after you've been married. This allows for some really nice quality time alone to internalize and process this moment together. These moments tend to create the best photos of the day!

Whether or not you book with the Fox and the Hare Photography, keep these tips in mind and ask your photographers to take a step back if you want intimate candids post-ceremony!
