Bridal Hair Tips from Julie Finnerty of Styles on Location in NJ

Julie Finnerty, bridal hairstylist and owner of Styles on Location has been in the industry for over 20 years, and has been making Rock Island couples look absolutely beautiful for a few years now. Julie's experience, creativity, and compassion is what makes her fit in so well at Rock Island. We asked Julie to share her tips for wedding day hair with us and all of our couples!

1. When going to your hair trial, bring any hair inspiration you have-- pictures of your dress, your veil, and any other accessories you would like to use. This helps Julie pull the whole look together and helps you envision how you will look on your wedding day. Sometimes the bridal style you're going for might not work so great with your accessories.

2. Wash and dry your hair the morning of your wedding.

With looser, softer styles being popular these days, Julie and her team finds that it's best to start with clean hair. Plus, who doesn't want to feel fresh on their wedding day! Tell your wedding party to have their hair washed and dried, too! Julie likes to start with some of the members of the wedding party first, giving the bride some time to relax and finalize last-minute details of the day.

3. Be yourself.

Pictures are forever so make sure you look and feel like yourself.

Today's bridal hair trend: loose and undone.

Julie will be a part of your wedding journey, ensuring that your dream look is brought to life on your wedding day. If you're unsure of what kind of hairstyle you'd like, Styles on Location will help you figure it out!
