Letters of Hope from RILC Couples to you ♡

Updated: Mar 29

During these difficult times, we could all use a little hope and positivity, so we've reached out to past Rock Island Lake Club couples for some words of encouragement for those who have had to postpone their weddings, and it is exactly what we needed. Thank you to the couples who are being so patient as we work through this together. And thank you to the couples for providing us with comfort during this time of uncertainty.

Dear Brides and Grooms,  I completely understand that now is a time of uncertainty, worry and circumstances that are making everything a little more tricky.

I applaud and admire every single couple that is trying to plan their wedding now or has had to reschedule. I know that is never the ideal situation. However, I feel that the couples going through this together are going to come out even stronger than they already were. You as a couple are going through what most of us have never experienced in our lives. You are problem solving, you are together for the worst of times, you are flexible, you are overcoming challenges left and right, and most importantly you are there for each other through it all.

At the end of the day your love and togetherness is going to be built up from this experience. You get to come out of your wedding with an amazing story, that is truly unique to you.

I know rescheduling is not what any couple wants to do, but if you are having your wedding at Rock Island, I know you will want to still have your magical day. My husband, Greg and I had the most incredible day of our lives at this venue, and we know you will too. No matter what day, or time of year, this amazing staff will treat you like the only couple on earth. They are worth every second of waiting!

Stay strong! You have each other and at the end of the day you will have a date where all of your loved ones can be together and have so much to celebrate! Thinking of all of you ❤️

Postponement or not, you will be marrying the love of your life at the best venue in the WORLD. The way you feel on your wedding day after having conquered such a hurdle together will remind you why you chose to get married in the first place.

The support I had from Rock Island before, during, and now even after my wedding is something I cherish most. It's important to remember that it's okay to lean on people during this time and I'm confident that the Rock Island family (those who work at Rock Island and past and future couples) will be here for you to work through your sadness, stress, anxieties, and even help you make the most of a bad situation.

Hang in there and just know at the end of this chapter, you will be saying I Do, eating the best cocktail hour and a half of your life, drinking the best drinks, and dancing the night away looking over the lake and reflecting on your journey to becoming a married couple!

Dear Brides & Grooms,

First off - congratulations! Being engaged is a great time in your life so make sure to enjoy every minute of it!

I can't even begin to imagine what you couples are going through at this time. But what I can tell you is that everything is going to be fine! Your wedding is the most amazing day in your life, so don't let this little hiccup ruin it. Take a deep breath and remember you're not going through this alone. There are hundreds of couples having to go through this, too.

The most important piece of advice I can offer you is to ask for help! Ask for help with contacting all of your guests, calling your vendors, making new arrangements, whatever it is.

I know how amazing the RILC team is, and how dedicated they are to making sure your day is exactly how you want it! When the day finally comes, it will be perfect!

As difficult as it is to wait even longer for the day you've been planning, the payoff will be that much more gratifying when you're finally able to celebrate with family and friends. And in the meantime, nobody should feel guilty for feeling sad or upset about the current situation! I know RILC will take extra amazing care of the couples that have been impacted since they go above and beyond under normal circumstances!

It is well worth the wait! The staff, food, service, view, everything will be so worth it! We had an absolute blast and we're so pleased with how everything was taken care of! It may be stressful now, but I promise the result will exceed your expectations!
