FAQs for Your Wedding Website
Wedding websites are truly one of the best things to ever happen to wedding planning. Guests can access allllll of your wedding details with a click of a button, no matter where they are. Although, we can’t promise that they will actually take advantage of it. Today we're sharing some useful things to consider adding to your website - with some examples of how to answer questions.
Where can I stay? What can I do?
Mention any details of your hotel room block, including the name, address, pricing and some local alternatives. If you're not doing a room block, try to include plenty of local hotel/Air BNB suggestions for a comfortable stay.

We have provided a list of suggested accommodations in the area for those wish to stay.
Have guests staying awhile? It might be worth adding in some local things for them to do! Think local restaurants, bars, movie theatres, malls, etc.
2. How will I get to the venue? Where can I park?
Guests will want to plan how they're getting there and back, so don't forget to include transportation details. If you're offering a shuttle, include the shuttle name, location, and timing. For those driving themselves, include the venue's address, directions, parking directions, parking cost, valet details, gate code, etc.
3. What is the nearest airport/public transit?
This will help guests traveling from far away.
4. What is the dress code?
The more specific you are, the better your guests can understand! Nobody wants to feel under or over-dressed. Example answer:
Semi-formal attire, with a touch of holiday cheer! We'll be outside for ceremony, so be sure to bundle up!
Other notes you might want to include:
What color the wedding party is wearing.
A Pinterest board with photos that showcase your dress code.
What not to wear (jeans, shorts, baseball cap, etc.)
5. What will the weather be like this time of the year?
This is especially helpful if your venue is somewhere guests aren't particularly familiar with. Example answer:
Expect spring-like weather. The average temperature for this date in this location is _.
6. Can I bring my kids?
If the answer is no, here's a kind way of saying it:
“To allow all wedding guests, including parents, a night of relaxation, we respectfully ask that no children attend the reception.”
“Although we love your children, the wedding is 21+.”
7. Can I bring a guest?
Example answers:
“If your invitation included ‘and guest,’ then you are welcome to bring a guest.”
“Due to the size of the venue, we cannot accommodate plus ones unless stated otherwise on your invitation.”
8. What is the timeline?
Let your guests know what's going on the day-of and when. Some important things to include are ceremony, cocktail hour, food/drink info (apps? open bar?), end time, etc.
If you’re having a wedding weekend, include those details too!
9. Can I take pics during ceremony?
If your ceremony is unplugged, here's a kind way to say 'please don't ruin our ceremony pics' -
“We hired an awesome photography company called __, who will capture every beautiful moment during ceremony. Respectfully, we ask that you please keep your phones away and be present in the moment with us.”
10. Is there an afterparty?
Going somewhere after the wedding? Let them know on your website. Certain websites allow you to limit what certain guests can see which can come in handy if you don't want to invite absolutely everyone.
11. Are there gluten-free/vegan/vegetarian options?
Let your guests know to reach out to you ahead of time with this information. The more information you give your venue on this, the better the chefs can understand the crowd. This is especially important for allergies and dietary restrictions that are severe!
12. Is it an open bar or a cash bar?
Guests will need to know whether or not they need to bring cash to the wedding.
13. Will any part of the day be held outside?
Give your guests a heads up if any part of your wedding will be held outside (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception). This way they can check the weather and plan accordingly. If your venue has a coat check, let your guests know!
